WHEN IT COMES TO LIFE BEYOND SPORT
WE NEED A NEW PLAYBOOK
Association for Elite Athletes’ Individual Success (AEAIS) is a 501(c) organization on a mission to raise athlete transition as a priority in elite sports
breaking it down
Expected or not, the end of an athletic career can be startling. There is evidence that for many athletes (in some sports, the majority of athletes) this transition has serious impacts on their financial stability, career path, health, relationships, self image, and susceptibility to substance abuse and/ or addiction.
Many millions of dollars are invested annually to drive the recruitment of elite athletes to collegiate and professional organizations. Funding is distributed across programs to support the athlete’s performance and development, quality of life, and general well being while active in their respective sport.
However, when an athlete can no longer perform for whatever reason, access to these programs - and the communities and resources associated with them - largely goes away.
The outcomes are unacceptable.
Our WORK
RESEARCH
Our research aims to bring objective and timely insight to leaders in policy and industry to help develop and improve the systems, products, and services needed to support athletes’ overall wellbeing beyond sport.
community
Through forums, content, and events, AEAIS bring together professionals and advocates in research, athlete development, and specific areas of health and wellbeing in an independent environment to share, collaborate, and reinforce each other’s work.
ADVOCACY
AEAIS operates independently of any league or elite sports organization. Our advocacy efforts are influenced only by our mission and our commitment to athletes. And through our Board and community, we have direct and undismissible lines to decision-makers.
